Davide Fontana , the 43-year-old bank employee in prison for killing and cutting to pieces the 26-year-old Carol Maltesi , with whom he was having an affair, last March in Rescaldina (Milan), asked for the shortened procedure .
The hearing with the Gup of Busto Arsizio, in the province of Varese, to examine the request for the alternative rite is set for 13 October.
As confirmed by one of his defenders, the lawyer Stefano Paloschi, with a "very articulate" request, Fontana "aims to obtain the alternative rite subject to the annulment of aggravating circumstances", which lead to a possible life sentence .
The proposal, if accepted, provides for a penalty discount of a third .
The case would also be discussed in a preliminary hearing, behind closed doors and in a closed session.
Fontana confessed to having killed the girl, who worked in the hard world under the pseudonym of Charlotte Angie and just in this way she met the man who would have massacred her.
Maltesi wanted to move to Veneto where her ex-husband's son lives, a decision that Fontana did not tolerate.
Last January he killed her and tried, in vain, to get rid of the body by cutting it to pieces and burning it in a barbecue in a holiday home. Then he hid it in some sacks left in a mountainous area of Brescia. This is where it was found on March 21 last.
