«The indication that comes from the principals to the teachers and janitors is to avoid gatherings of students, especially in these first days of school. In many schools we will then distribute masks to those who ask using the many supplies that were given to us during the critical phase of the pandemic. The same thing will happen with the disinfectant gel."
This was announced by Mario Rusconi of the Principals' Association, in relation to the resurgence of Covid cases that has been recorded in Italy in recent weeks.
«The use of personal protective equipment is recommended for teachers and students with fragility. Ours is an invitation as use is not mandatory - continues Rusconi -. I then feel obliged to launch an appeal to institutions to be more prompt in the renovation work in schools: having classes with 27-28 students, in small environments, can only favor the transmission of any virus. Finally, it would be valuable if schools could regain those spaces now used as apartments where children or grandchildren of now dead janitors often live. In Rome alone there are 500, but the situation is also similar in places like Naples and Bari."
