Chiara Mocchi , the French teacher stabbed last Wednesday, March 25 , by a 13-year-old student at the Trescore Balneario middle school, was discharged this afternoon.
Before leaving the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo , where she was hospitalized due to the serious wounds she sustained to her neck and abdomen, the 57-year-old wanted to release a letter of thanks to the blood donors and to the lawyer Angelo Lino Murtas , originally from Arbus.
The teacher also thanked another student the same age as the boy who attacked her: "A confused student, drawn in and indoctrinated by social media, suddenly stabbed me repeatedly in the neck and chest with a dagger. Only the immense courage of another student of mine, also thirteen, who defended me, risking his own life, prevented the worst from happening."
Her screams after the first stab wound, she explained, attracted another student who, while she was trying to defend herself and falling to the ground wounded, confronted his armed classmate, kicking him and forcing him to run away. "He is undoubtedly a hero."
