There are eight hours of strike scheduled for Thursday 16 December for public and private workers, but with some exclusions. In fact, health care, exempted from the beginning, will not stop, and neither will the school, which has already crossed its arms last Friday.
Also excluded are the post office sectors, struggling with the expiry of the IMU payment, and environmental services. Stop, however, for transport (with the exception of some services and companies at the local level) and for other public services and private sectors, from the PA to industry and services.
This is the map of the general strike proclaimed for tomorrow, Thursday 16 December, by CGIL and UIL against a maneuver considered inadequate. Accompanied by the slogan "Together for justice" and by demonstrations in five squares: in Milan, Bari, Palermo, Rome and also on the island, in Cagliari.
Here is the detail of the protest:
HEALTH - The public and private health sector with related services, including RSA, is exempted from the strike to safeguard citizens' priority right to health in this phase of pandemic emergency.
SCHOOL - The school staff, having already struck last Friday, 10 December, do not join the general strike.
POSTE - After the findings of the Guarantor on strikes, workers in the environmental hygiene sector and in the post office sector, employees of Poste Italiane belonging to the private market division (branches) are exempted from joining the strike on Thursday.
TRAINS - In compliance with the general strike, a national strike of employees of the FS Italiane Group was proclaimed by Filt-Cgil and Uiltrasporti from midnight to 9 pm on December 16, in compliance with the guarantee bands (from 6 to 9 and from 18 to 21) . In the railway sector, participation in the strike has been revoked for some companies such as Trenord in Lombardy, which had already announced a stop on 14 and 15 December.
PORTS - For the personnel assigned to port services, the strike scheduled for December 17th is still standing.
BUS, METRO AND AIRCRAFT - The strike for local public transport is organized at different times and in compliance with the guarantee bands that vary from city to city. In Milan, participation in the strike is from 8.45 am to 3 pm and from 6 pm at the end of the service; in Rome from 8.30 to 17 and from 20 at the end of the service. Venice excluded. Even for air transport, the strike is for a working shift in compliance with the guarantee bands which go from 7 to 10 and from 18 to 21. The personnel of ships and ferries also stop for a work shift, with the exception of essential connections. and with the smaller islands.
