Tragic road accident last night in the territory of Serra San Quirico, in the Ancona area.
Involved four colleagues who were returning from work at a local company.
The Volkswagen Polo in which they were traveling went off the road and fell into a canal near the Abbey of Sant'Elena. The car was dragged into the canal for about sixty meters before stopping entangled in the vegetation.
The balance sheet is dramatic: two women died , probably drowned, the driver and the passenger in the front seat, respectively from Jesi and Monsano.
The other two managed to escape by getting out of the cockpit . The man unharmed, the woman seriously injured, taken to the Torrette di Ancona hospital in red code.
The firefighters intervened on the site with a team of divers, the 118 and the carabinieri.
