He was hiding in a 1000 euro-a-night resort in Vietri sul Mare (Salerno), where the Carabinieri tracked him down last night: this is how Roberto Mazzarella, head of the Mazzarella clan that dominates Naples and its province, ended his time on the run.

The man, who did not resist, was on the Ministry of the Interior's list of highly dangerous fugitives.

Mazzarella, born in 1978, had been a fugitive since January 28, 2025, and had escaped capture after a precautionary custody order was issued by the Court of Naples at the request of the Naples Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) on charges of aggravated mafia-style murder.
