The body of Angela Caniglia, the 61-year-old who had been missing for four days due to the storm that hit the town of the Piana di Catania, was found in Scordia. Yesterday her jacket was found in a citrus grove in the Leonella district, in an area not far away where the body of her husband, Sebastiano Gambera, 67, had been recovered three days ago. The couple had been overwhelmed by the fury of the water on the street on 25 October.

The death toll for the storms therefore rises to three: two days ago in Gravina di Catania, Paolo Claudio Agatino Grassidonio died, the 53-year-old also overwhelmed by the water after getting out of the car.

And after a night of "truce", the first of the two days of preventive closure of schools, shops, public offices and all non-essential activities for fear of the arrival of a cyclone which, in formation between the Sicily and Malta, it is feared it could become a Mediterranean hurricane. His arrival on the Ionian coast of Sicily and Calabria is estimated between today and tomorrow.

The affected area, according to forecasts, will be lashed by stormy winds, with gusts over 100 km / h, heavy rains and intense storm surges.
