While watching Atalanta-Napoli on TV (which he doesn't like, given the 2-1 victory for the Bergamo team), a forty-year-old fan swears, and his wife, a 35-year-old Neapolitan, thinks the insults are aimed at her. She threatens her husband, telling him to leave or she'll stab him.

When the man refuses , the thirty-five-year-old woman grabs a pair of scissors and throws them at him. She then picks up a kitchen knife and attempts to stab him in the left side, but fortunately without success. The woman then aims for the other side. Bleeding, the forty-year-old man first dials 911, then 911. His wife doesn't stop and, during the call, throws more knives at her partner. One lodges in the wall, and that's where the Carabinieri from the Capodimonte station find it when they arrive.

The woman was arrested for domestic violence and aggravated assault and is now in prison. She was also charged with possession of a knife because officers found three other blades in her bag, one of which was a lobster opener.

The victim is still hospitalized at the Ospedale del Mare but his life is not in danger.
