He had transformed his home into a laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs. In Novara, the police discovered what is considered one of the largest clandestine methamphetamine laboratories in the country . It was managed by a 22-year-old university student, arrested for the crime of producing narcotic substances .

The activity was identified after several months of investigations, during which the agents of the mobile squad, narcotics section, kept the boy under surveillance. He was passionate about chemistry and the television series “Breaking Bad” (which tells the story of amphetamine dealing). Inside his home in the Sant’Antonio neighborhood , he had set up a real clandestine laboratory for the production of methamphetamine and numerous other synthetic drugs . The young man had used the ground floor of the building as a distillation apparatus, while the attic was used for mixing and creating chemical compounds.

During the stakeouts, the mobile officers had noticed that the twenty-two-year-old, several times a day, opened the windows on the ground floor to air the rooms, releasing the unmistakable smell of cooking methamphetamine into the air. When the police burst in, the boy was alone in the house: the investigators entered and found themselves in front of a room on the ground floor lit by a dim red light bulb. On a large table, a complex distillation system had been installed consisting of flasks, flasks, burettes in borosilicate glass to withstand the high temperatures of cooking the drug. In the "laboratory" numerous chemical products were also found, which can only be purchased on the black market or the Darkweb .
