He lived alone at home , with a cell phone, two cats, a dog and a few rabbits to keep him company. To bring him the shopping , once a week, a supermarket clerk who left the bag in front of the door, then the visits, twice a month, from his mother.

It is the difficult story, which comes from the Treviso area, of a 13-year-old boy who spent the whole of last summer like this, alone and immersed in the waste and dirt left by his animal friends.

The 13-year-old, of Ukrainian origin, lived with both parents until about a year and a half ago, when his father left home to go and fight in Ukraine. The mother, left alone, then found a job in the Verona area, providing for the maintenance of the boy but leaving him at home for days totally alone.

To discover the story, alerted by the neighbors, the carabinieri, who intervened in the house on 5 September. Now the 13-year-old has been entrusted to social services and the road to foster care could now open up for him, or even adoptability depending on the decisions of the Juvenile Court. The mother, a Ukrainian citizen, was reported for abandonment of a minor.

Furthermore, from what is learned, the mother was provided with a legal officer, who however tells the local press today from September to today he has never been able to contact her: "It is as if she had disappeared into thin air".
