A 17-year-old girl, Zoe Trinchero, was found dead in a stream in Nizza Monferrato (Asti). The young woman appears to have been murdered: her body showed signs of head trauma and strangulation.

According to the reconstruction, she had spent the evening at several bars in the city, then disappeared. The discovery, located a short distance from a gas station, was made by a resident and then by friends who were searching for her along the road from Nice to the town of Incisa. Firefighters and law enforcement officers responded to the scene.

After the discovery, a group of people gathered outside the home of a young man from the village. The boy, who was reportedly undergoing treatment for psychiatric issues, was taken into custody by the Carabinieri for security reasons, but no legal action has been filed against him.

The Alessandria prosecutor's office is coordinating the investigation.
