A Sardinian truck driver lost his life in a tragic road accident in Veneto, along the Romea state road, in the Campagna Lupia area (Venice) .

Sandro Puledda, 54, was originally from Sassari and had lived in the Verona area for some time. He leaves behind a wife and a 17-year-old son .

The tragedy occurred on Thursday, June 25. Pulledda was driving a truck carrying steel plates. To avoid a collision with a Panda in front of him, he braked sharply. The steel plates he was carrying slid forward, tearing off the cab and crushing it, also crushing the 54-year-old man from Sassari . There was nothing that could be done for the truck driver; the emergency doctor could only pronounce him dead.

The young woman driving the Panda, also involved in the accident, was taken to hospital in non-serious condition.

Traffic was blocked for over eight hours. Three firefighters and local police were on the scene.
