A 33-year-old woman was stabbed to death following an argument with her ex-partner, a 39-year-old Tunisian, in a house on Via Bramante in Loreto , in the province of Ancona.

According to initial reports, the alarm was raised by several residents who saw the man staggering in the street, claiming he had killed his ex-girlfriend. Shortly thereafter, he showed up at the Porto Recanati police station (Macerata) with blood on his clothes and confessed to the crime .

At that point, the Carabinieri raided the house at Via Bramante 194 and found the lifeless body of Luigia Fortunato , lying on her back in the hallway, with numerous stab wounds. The victim was originally from Cerignola, and the crime occurred late in the evening, after 10:00 PM.

During the night, the Carabinieri of the Norm of Osimo and Porto Recanati formally arrested the man, Sami Khemaies .

According to initial reports, the two had argued last night over various matters, including the care of their son, who was not home at the time. Carabinieri officers from the Ancona Investigative Unit's Scientific Investigations Section arrived at the scene to conduct all the necessary investigations.

The victim's body was taken to the Torrette Hospital mortuary. The perpetrator of the femicide was arrested for aggravated voluntary manslaughter in the investigation coordinated by Ancona prosecutor Rosario Lioniello and transferred to the Ancona Montacuto prison.
