Also in Sardinia are the victims of a round of fraud relating to the online purchase of high fashion clothing and accessories. As part of the "Criminal Glitz" operation, the Carabinieri of Naples and Verbania arrested 8 people. 4 ended up in prison, the others under house arrest.

The investigation started from a case in Verbania: through advanced technologies to evade the complex security systems of credit institutions, the criminal network, based in the province of Naples, managed to steal around 164 thousand euros from the victims.

The frauds were aimed at purchasing garments and accessories from renowned high fashion brands. The military, starting from a cyber scam perpetrated in 2021 against an account holder of a Piedmontese credit institution, managed to document over 300 episodes, between those attempted and those consummated, to the detriment of 146 victims resident in Piedmont, Lombardy, Calabria , Lazio, Campania, Basilicata, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Veneto, Sicily, Abruzzo, Tuscany, Trentino, Sardinia, Marche, Puglia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
