She had arrived at the Gemelli Polyclinic in desperate conditions, transferred by helicopter from Rieti.
The 10-month-old baby girl has now died, the victim of a tragic domestic accident: she was apparently accidentally suffocated by her father while she was sleeping , while the two were sleeping in the same bed.
The episode occurred on Saturday evening: according to the father's reconstruction, the two fell asleep but during her sleep the man inadvertently placed himself on the little girl's body, cutting off her air until she suffocated .
Upon awakening, the father saw that his daughter, who was blue and not breathing, and called 911. The little girl was resuscitated for a long time, then rushed in desperate condition to the De Lellis Hospital in Rieti and transferred by air ambulance to Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where unfortunately the little girl died. The prolonged cardiac arrest caused her irreversible brain damage.
