Riyad Idrissi has received his first call-up to the Italy Under-21 squad. The 2005-born Cagliari full-back, who made his Serie A debut last Sunday against Fiorentina, is among the players named by the Azzurrini's new coach, Silvio Baldini, for the two September matches that kick off the 2027 European Championship qualifying cycle: against Montenegro on Friday, September 5th at 6:15 PM in La Spezia and against North Macedonia (in Bitola) on Tuesday, September 9th at 6:15 PM.

He's joined by another Cagliari player, the latest arrival Marco Palestra , who was called up this afternoon by Fabio Pisacane for tomorrow's match in Naples . Idrissi, originally from Sadali, has so far played two games for the Italy Under-19s and seven for the Under-20s. Last season, he was on loan at Modena in Serie B.
