The conviction for group rape becomes final for Robinho.

The Supreme Court confirmed the nine-year prison term for the former AC Milan striker, a sentence issued by the Milan Court of Appeal in 2019.

The facts date back to January 22, 2013: according to investigators, the former Brazilian player made the victim, at the time 23 years old, drink to the point of making her unconscious and then raped her together with others, without her being able to object. in the wardrobe of a nightclub in the Milanese nightlife, where the young woman had gone to celebrate her birthday.

The line of defense, according to which the relationship was consensual, therefore did not pass. Also because, against this hypothesis, there were the words of the former Real Madrid and Milan: "I'm laughing because I don't care - she said in a phone call - she was completely drunk, she doesn't even know what happened".

The Supreme Court judges also confirmed the second degree sentence of Ricardo Falco, a friend of the football player.

However, both convicts are currently in Brazil: "The problem now becomes also political in nature," says the lawyer of the civil party, the lawyer Jacopo Gnocchi.

The Brazilian authorities will not hand Robinho over to Italy as the federal constitution does not allow the extradition of Brazilian citizens. However, if Italy issues an international arrest warrant against the former player, the latter will not be able to go anywhere that has an extradition agreement with our country. For this reason, in recent years the attacker has not been able to set foot in almost 70 countries around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and member countries of the European Union.
