The great classical dance returns to the Lirico in Cagliari. Tuesday 13 May at 20.30 it will be performed
Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty.
The famous ballet in three acts will be presented to the public by the journalist and dance critic Valentina Bonelli. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at 5 pm, at the Teatro Carmen Melis, Ridotto del Lirico. The seventh title of the Opera and Ballet Season will be repeated: Wednesday, May 14 at 8:30 pm; Thursday, May 15 at 7 pm; Friday, May 16 at 8:30 pm; Saturday, May 17 at 3:30 pm and at 9 pm; Sunday, May 18 at 5 pm. Admission to the presentation is free.
Valentina Bonelli, a journalist, dance critic and ballet historian, writes about dance, entertainment and culture for the monthly magazine "Vogue Italia" and the website "vogue.it"; she collaborates with the trade magazine "Ballet2000" and writes a dance column in the multimedia magazine "Music Paper".
She is the correspondent from Italy for the magazines "Dance Europe" (UK), "Dance Magazine" (Japan), "Dans" (Sweden), "Fjord" (Canada). An expert in Russian ballet, she has translated into Italian and edited the Memoirs of Marius Petipa (Gremese 2010) and the Diaries (1903-1907) of Marius Petipa (Dnz Media 2018) and has published numerous essays dedicated to Italian ballerinas in Russia in the nineteenth century. She signs presentations and essays for the main Italian theaters and festivals, holds conferences and lessons on the history of dance, and participates in international conferences on ballet. She is the author of the ballet manual for children Ballerina (Red 2010) and of the volumes Roberto Bolle: la mia danza, (Rizzoli 2010) and A Day with: Corpo di Balleto del Teatro alla Scala, (Condé Nast 2007).
For the Teatro Regio di Parma and the ParmaDanza season, she curates the cycle of collateral activities "Dance behind the scenes". In 2022 and 2024, together with Vittoria Cappelli, she conceived and curated the dance evening Memorare in the Basilica of San Petronio in Bologna.
