Fuel prices in Sardinia after a week of discounts: diesel down 14 cents per litre, petrol down 11.
As of today, the excise duty discount is no longer in effect, but company initiatives have led to a general reduction in rates: on the island, a full tank of diesel saves 7 euros.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The 6.1 euro cent discount on diesel excise duty is no longer in effect . The tax cut will replace the mobile excise duty mechanism, which could lead to diesel price increases.
Consumer associations highlight this, while underlining how the discounts and price caps introduced by oil brands have led to general price reductions throughout Italy in the last week .
Last Monday, September 28th, was the first day of the price cap introduced by Eni (€2.199 per liter for diesel, €1.99 for gasoline). In the following days, three other companies joined in: IP, Q8, and Tamoil.
In one week the average price on the road network in Sardinia decreased by 14 cents per litre for diesel, and by 11 for petrol: from 2.396 euros per litre for diesel to 2.255, and from 2.168 to 2.056 for petrol .
Prices remain high, but the effect of the oil companies' initiatives is being felt in the pockets of Sardinians: a full tank of 50 litres of diesel costs on average 7 euros less than a week ago, and 5.5 euros less for petrol .
The island remains among the most expensive regions, particularly for diesel, where it ranks second only to the autonomous provinces of Bolzano (2,290) and Trento (2,258). As for gasoline, Sardinia has the sixth highest price.
"The extraordinary initiative, unique in Europe, to cap fuel prices now covers well over half of our country's retail outlets," emphasized Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso . "This is proving successful and I believe it will serve to structurally control fuel prices in the coming months . We must monitor it closely, because this is a voluntary measure by the oil companies, something that hasn't happened in other European countries," added the head of MIMIT.
