A series of intensive courses to train new film professionals in Sardinia. This is the goal of the Regional Council, which approved the Filmas project with an investment of one hundred thousand euros.
The courses will be delivered by the Cultural Services Center of the Società Umanitaria of Cagliari, with the involvement of the Film Commission Foundation. The aim is to address the structural shortage of highly specialized professionals required by film productions in the area.
"Cinema is a fundamental medium of artistic expression, communication, and a driving force for cultural, social, and economic growth," stated Councilor for Culture Ilaria Portas . "In recent years, Sardinia has seen a growing presence of audiovisual productions. However, the concomitant structural shortage of several highly specialized professionals often forces productions to find these professionals outside of Sardinia. This project was created precisely to bridge this gap."
The workshops are aimed at those with existing knowledge , skills, or experience in film, audiovisual, television, tailoring, fashion, and creative professions. "The initiative," a statement reads, "is aimed at enhancing existing profiles who require higher-level specialization to be immediately available on sets and in production."
