First the controversy, then the decision: Francesco Giorgino leaves Tg1 .

This was revealed by a communication from the editorial committee of Tg1.

“Dear colleagues and colleges - reads the note - the director Maggioni has informed us that from 14 July the deputy director Francesco Giorgino will go to the editorial management for the information offer. To my colleague, who leaves our magazine after about 30 years, sincere wishes from the entire editorial staff and good luck for this new professional experience ".

Giorgino, the historic face of the 8pm news of the RAI flagship network, had been at the center of the viale Mazzini controversy that had seen him and his colleagues Emma D'Aquino and Laura Chimenti removed from the evening news program. The reason would have been the request made by the director, Monica Maggioni, to supervise the press review at 6.30 in the morning, a request sent back to the sender by the three journalists. To evade that decision, Giorgino, according to rumors, would have presented medical certificates.

Now the journalist will fill the position of deputy director of the Information Offer Direction , led by Giuseppina Paterniti, former director of Tg3.
