Lando Norris on McLaren will start in pole position in the Monaco GP, the eighth round of the Formula 1 world championship. Alongside him is Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. Third time for Oscar Piastri, then Max Verstappen climbs: this is because Lewis Hamilton, who had finished fourth, was penalized three positions for an impeding at the start of qualifying on the same Belgian driver.
The irregularity, later punished by the judges, was apparently caused by the Ferrari box that had not warned of the Red Bull's fast arrival. Mercedes out of the top ten: in Q1 Kimi Antonelli hit the wall, in Q2 an electrical problem for George Russell's single-seater .
The race is tomorrow at 3pm, on the historic city circuit.
