August 2025 ended with a positive outcome for tourism in the province of Sassari. According to a sample of 35% of Federalberghi's member accommodation facilities, the average room occupancy rate reached 85.94%, up from 83.72% in the same month in 2024.
The Gulf of Asinara was the main driver of the result, jumping from 77.8% to 84.37%, while Alghero confirmed its position as one of the most solid destinations, with 86.71% occupancy , just below the 2024 figure but still above the provincial average.
The increase in arrivals at Riviera del Corallo Airport, the quality of hospitality, and the promotional strategies implemented by operators have played a decisive role. However, Federalberghi reports a decline in extra spending within hotels , which is impacting profitability despite the growth in occupancy.
"The August data gives us confidence and confirms the vitality of our region," said Stefano Visconti, president of Federalberghi Confcommercio, Province of Sassari. "The excellent performance of the Gulf of Asinara places us in contrast to other regions, but the decline in hotel spending requires us to work on the quality of services to also stimulate guest spending."
