The world of cinema in mourning for the death of Helmut Berger.
According to what has been learned, Berger died in Salzburg, at 4 in the morning, in an "unexpected" way. He would have turned 79 on May 29th.
After his beginnings as a model and as an actor in German films, Berger was discovered by Luchino Visconti and then became his life partner . In his career he acted with actors of the caliber of Romy Schneider, Elisabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda and Burt Lancaster.
Among his most famous interpretations are those in the films “Ludwig”, “The Fall of the Gods”, “The Damned”, “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis”, “Dorian Gray and in “The Godfather Part III”.
Of his relationship with Luchino Visconti, in 1976, he said: «I experienced true love with him. We moved under the same roof four months after we met. He educated me, introduced me to a myriad of famous people such as Grace Kelly, Dalì and Maria Callas».
