Elena Pero, Sky Sport's longtime tennis voice, has died. Sky announced the news with a moving and heartfelt tribute, which was broadcast live on TV and online.

A student of the great Rino Tommasi, after many years behind the scenes, she became Sky's leading tennis voice. Paired with Paolo Bertolucci, she covered Jannik Sinner's two Wimbledon triumphs.

Elena Però was 60 years old. "She never missed a commentary, not even during her illness," Sky's editorial staff emphasized in a message read by the director. "The last time we heard her, both you and us at home, was at Wimbledon, where she celebrated Jannik Sinner's second consecutive victory, as she had done for the historic first time—on July 13, 2025—partnered with Paolo Bertolucci, who, in over 20 years of commentating together, had created the second formidable doubles match of her career."

She worked for Sky Sport for more than thirty-five years, since it was called Telepiù, which she joined at its foundation, as a trainee journalist in 1991, hired by Rino Tommasi, her great mentor.
