The world of Sardinian sport is in mourning for the death of Andrea Atzeni who would have turned 67 on April 19th .
He was a good sprinter (49:6 in the 400 as a student) and then coach of Amsicora . He has always remained very close to the Cagliari club. He trained and followed athletes of different generations with passion and competence. Some of them have achieved significant results such as Johanna Zuddas, Francesca Albiani and the Italian sprinter Wanderson Rijo Polanco.
He remained on the track until his strength allowed him to cultivate his great love for sport and for athletics in particular.
Amsicora remembers him like this: «A constant presence on the field. Not only a very good technician but above all, for many, a friend, a brother, a father. An example of positivity and energy with a joke always ready and always available for everything. He was a point of reference for the entire company and for his boys. He leaves an unfillable void in Sardinian athletics. It will seem impossible to return to the track at Amsicora and not see him with us again». And his friends and colleagues from the Municipality of Cagliari also remember him with affection, where he worked for many years as an IT expert .
