The “Extraordinary Concert for Peace”, conceived and organized by the Teatro Lirico, is scheduled for Thursday 7 April (at 9 pm) in Cagliari.

The appointment is proposed in a single evening to be held in the auditorium of the state conservatory "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina".

A unique opportunity to reflect, all together, on the immense value of peace among peoples, thanks to the universal message of brotherhood that comes from immortal pages of music.

Leading the orchestra will be Giuseppe Finzi, an appreciated Apulian conductor currently engaged in Cagliari in the rehearsals of Giuseppe Verdi's “Ernani”. Finzi already in 2017 directed the European premiere of Marco Tutino's "La Ciociara" with great success with audiences and critics, before returning for an applauded series of concerts and, last summer, for Strauss's "La vedova allegra". , to direct the complete artistic ensemble of the Lirico orchestra.

The evening's musical program includes the performance of one of the greatest and most famous absolute musical masterpieces, the Fifth Symphony in C minor op. 67 by Ludwig van Beethoven and, after the interval, the Symphonies from Luisa Miller and Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, the Intermezzi from L'amico Fritz and Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni and the famous Symphony from Guillaume Tell by Gioachino Rossini.

The evening is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Cagliari and with the State Conservatory of Music "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina" of Cagliari.
