Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio has decided to resign from all his positions at EssilorLuxottica to focus on new business projects. A company spokesperson confirmed the decision.
"We thank Leonardo Maria for his contribution to the group's growth and the realization of his father's strategic vision. We wish him the same success in his new venture," the company said.
The founder's son, Milano Finanza reports, announced his stepping down from his roles as Ray Ban president and chief strategy officer in a letter to CEO Francesco Milleri, complaining, among other things, that the company's management was "distant, impersonal, and too removed from people" compared to the past.
