Electoral law approved by the Chamber of Deputies with 217 votes in favor; the measure moves to the Senate.

The Chamber of Deputies approved the electoral law reform with 217 votes in favor, 152 against, and two abstentions.

The vote was held by secret ballot and the measure now goes to the Senate for consideration .

At the end of the vote , satisfaction exploded among the center-right deputies : the parliamentarians of the majority stood up, applauded, and several shook hands to celebrate the approval of the reform.
