«The 5 Star Movement is growing in Sardinia». This was declared by the President of the Region Alessandra Todde after the results of the administrative elections in Sardinia. For the governor " Massimo Zedda's victory in Cagliari and those in Sassari and Alghero confirm the strength of the progressive camp, the citizens' great trust in the new regional government but above all the ability to build an alternative to the right".
Thus, with the important results obtained in Cagliari and in the other large Sardinian centres, the result is 4 to 0, after the victory in February. In Sardinia therefore "the movement - we read in a note from the M5s - confirms itself as a driving force, increasing consensus and the number of votes which captures the citizens' appreciation of the political choices that they, together with their coalition, are carrying out".
« Despite the collapse in turnout compared to the regional elections – continues the press release –, which decreased by around 16 points despite having increased by around 1 point compared to the European elections in 2019, the M5S is growing everywhere, especially in the main cities of Sardinia: in Sassari ( from 11% to 21%), in Cagliari (from 7% to 12%), in Alghero (from 9% to 20%) and in Nuoro (from 9% to 19%) even doubling the consensus. Furthermore, the progressive camp becomes the majority on the island: Pd, M5S and AVS reach 50.2% while the centre-right - Fdi, Lega, Fi, AP - stops at 40%".
