«After the declaration of the state of calamity due to the serious drought that is affecting the Region, a fundamental step to implement the first urgent interventions aimed at counteracting the effects of the water crisis and preparatory to the possible declaration of the national state of emergency, it is now necessary to accelerate with the implementation of measures to alleviate the great hardships that Sardinian agricultural producers are experiencing."
This was underlined by the president of Copagri Sardinia Giuseppe Patteri, thanking the president of the Region Alessandra Todde and indicating some priority interventions for agriculture.
«First of all, the priority goes to the distribution of water resources and emergency fodder supplies to companies , as happened following other natural disasters, to which add vouchers for feed and fodder, to be assigned in proportion to the size of the company and the number of animals", suggests Patteri, according to whom "it is also appropriate to think about the adoption of other measures, such as the creation of a register of suppliers for livestock feed and seeds, similar to what happened, for example, in Sicily ».
«On the administrative side - adds the president - given the extraordinary nature of the situation in the areas affected by the severe drought, a series of zero-cost interventions must be urgently implemented aimed at granting exemptions on feed, hay and seeds, but also at granting exemptions on the minimum UBA load, on the maintenance of pasture and, above all, on the minimum grazing period for livestock farms, which for obvious reasons suffer from the inconsistency of pasture essences".
