Filippo Zana (Soudal-QuickStep) won the thirtieth edition of the Giro di Sardegna professional cycling race, which returned to the calendar after 15 years.

The final 183km Nuoro-Olbia stage concluded in a sprint finish with Davide Donati (Red Bull-Bora) taking victory. The Brescian rider, who had already won in the Carbonia stage, took the points classification. Best climber was Panamanian Roberto Gonzales (Solution Tech Nippo Rali), while Polish rider Jan Jacowiak (Bahrain Victorious) was best young rider.
The only Sardinian in the race, Ignazio Cireddu of Vorarlberg, finished the race, also making a name for himself with a long breakaway on stage three. At 21, the San Vito native was making his professional debut.
