Almost half of Sardinian municipalities have been excluded from the widespread contributions provided for in the 2025 Budget . Two days after the complaint-protest by Anci , the association that brings together the mayors of the Island, the tricolor bands themselves are asking for "transparency in the next choices". From the Regional Council, which gave the green light to the Budget on April 17, comes the defense of the choices made in the Chamber: "There is no problem of transparency", say the honorable members who agreed to speak.
There are 198 – out of 377 – local administrations that have done well this time. In total, they have received 179 million euros. «Italian partisanship has this dimension, unfortunately: it builds loyalty among its followers at the expense of the communities. These dynamics are common to the right and the left in Sardinia too», says Antonio Flore , mayor of Scano Montiferro. The municipalities of Talana and Sant'Antonio di Gallura are also excluded. Christian Loddo , tricolor sash of the Ogliastra municipality, says: «Discretion without criteria lends itself to favoritism and “do ut des” actions»; Carlo Duilio Viti , the other mayor observes: «Transparency is necessary, full support for the battle of the Anci».
The regional councilors admit to having supported their respective territories of residence. The former deputy mayor of Oliena, Lara Serra , M5S quota of the Chamber, does so. But she says: «We are democratically elected. We respect the work of the mayors and we are sure that they respect ours». Sandro Porcu , group leader of Orizzonte Comune, party of Campo largo, and tricolor sash in Villaputzu, observes: «The small festival and cultural events of a small municipality have equal dignity compared to the events of the big cities and above all they are interventions that can help the communities to survive». Alberto Urpi, minority councilor with Sardegna venti20 and mayor of Sanluri, underlines: «I also asked for and obtained resources for my territory, but always for local authorities and public institutions, not for private associations that organize events».
From Anci, President Daniela Falconi , a guest yesterday on Radiolina , reiterated the importance of "increasing the Single Fund for Local Authorities", a large spending item that the Region allocates every year. "I'll give you an example of the positive effects of this solution that puts all the Municipalities on the same level: Cagliari would have received 14 million for the Tari cut, not the nine obtained and that have caused so much discussion".
