Dinamo's fourth home win in their last four games. The win against Trapani was the easiest: 102-78. Seven white-and-blue players finished in double figures. Johnson opened with 17 points and Pullen finished with 10. Among them were Mezzanotte with 14, Thomas and Buie with 13, McGlynn with 12, and Beliauskas with 11.
The Sicilian team showed up with only ten players because Hurt has a fever. In reality, only nine players are available, because Petrucelli is in his tracksuit and skips the warm-up. And due to the now-infamous dispute over registrations being blocked due to certain administrative decisions, Trapani cannot sign new players.
It was easy for Banco, who first dominated under the basket with McGlynn (8 points in the first 9) and then broke through steals with Johnson on the break: 18-7 after 6' and even a 21-point lead in a 33-point quarter. Coach Mrsic was able to manage the substitutions with ease and bring on center Seck as early as the 13th minute, especially since, as usual, big men quickly pick up fouls. At least Mezzanotte showed his stature against the opposition and, together with Visconti, closed the gap: +25 after 26'. At halftime, the score was 51-34 and still no game. A telling statistic: Dinamo rotated 11 players, Trapani 8.
After halftime, the Sicilians showed a more combative spirit: 53-40 at the 23rd minute. A timeout was needed to shake up the white-blues, who found baskets from Beliauskas and Thomas, extending their lead to +29. At the start of the final period, Banco slackened slightly, but coach Mrsic called a timeout to regain focus. A 7-0 run, and the credits rolled in the 34th minute.
