On Wednesday, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari played against Anwil Włocławek in the FIBA Europe Cup, as the Rottweilers team is one of three opponents of our Sardinian team in the European competition. Anwil Włocławek is a three-time champion of the Polish Basketball League and is the organization that won the FIBA Europe Cup in the 2022/2023 season. The multiple title-winning club has been competing in the highest level since 1992, when it was promoted to the first division. That's it for the club*, and what about the city? Is Włocławek worth a visit?

Włocławek is a city located in the south-eastern part of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the Vistula River. Known as the capital of the Kuyavian region, it is said to be one of the oldest cities in Poland.

Besides an incredible basketball team that has been Polish champion three times, Włocławek has much more to offer. The Cathedral (dating from the 14th and 15th centuries), the Franciscan Monastery of the Reformers on Wolności Square, the Bishop's Palace and the dam on the Vistula River are the most important attractions.

But Włocławek is not only a place strongly connected to its historical and religious context. It is also a great place for those who want to be in touch with nature. Tourists are fascinated by the greenery of the Henryk Sienkiewicz Municipal Park and beautiful flower beds, but also by the wonderful Włocławek Reserve, a particularly interesting place for water games, fishing, hiking, cycling, mushroom picking, horse riding and other outdoor activities.

Sassari will play in Włocławek on November 6. Who wants to come?
