The companies and the management of Confartigianato Sud Sardegna express strong concern for the socio-economic consequences that the cost of energy, without serious control by the Government, will have on an already proven territory such as that of Sulcis, which has 9,745 companies , of which 343 only in Portoscuso, and offers work to about 50 thousand people, directly and indirectly.

"If the 400 direct employees of the Portovesme hub risk staying at home, a few dozen indirect supply companies may have to close their business forever, with a very serious negative rebound on employment and the local economy - affirms Fabio Mereu. and Pietro Paolo Spada, respectively president and secretary of Confartigianato Sud Sardegna - and this is only the first example of a situation that risks getting out of hand and frustrating a significant part of the economic recovery, which we have in Sardinia up to now. seen only in part ".

According to the analyzes carried out by the Research Office of Confartigianato Imprese Sardegna, in 2021, with an average made on 20 September, the Single National Price of electricity rose by 138% compared to the same period of the previous year, thus being higher than the 58% compared to 2019. The price of gas rose by 228% compared to a year earlier and by 78% compared to 2019.
