"Five evenings from February 16th to 20th at the Ariston Theatre, a new "performance evening" on Friday that will choose Italy's representative at Eurovision, and a final on Saturday with the winner of the Festival": these are some of the previews of Sanremo 2027 provided by Stefano De Martino on the sidelines of the presentation of the 2026-2027 Rai schedules in Ancona.
The host and artistic director of the Festival explained that on Tuesday and All the competing artists will perform on Wednesday, Thursday will be dedicated to covers, while Friday the singers will perform their competing songs again, staging a performance inspired by their live shows.
De Martino has already received numerous songs: "There's really a bit of everything and more. A lot of new Italian music is arriving, there are many new singer-songwriters, a great return to performed music, and many performers. In short, there are so many different realities that I hope to bring to the Ariston stage."
As for the work ahead of the Festival, he emphasized that simply listening to the songs isn't enough: "You need a great team. You have to figure out who can share your vision and help you put it into practice, because you can't do anything alone."
De Martino also confirmed that RAI is working to bring "international guests" to the Ariston stage: "Yes, absolutely. We're already working on it, and as soon as we have the names, we'll let you know. It's a dream, and it's our idea."
Regarding the possibility of having Vasco Rossi as a guest at the Festival, she admitted: "He has the keys to the Ariston, he can come in whenever he wants. Having him would be a dream."
Regarding the passing of the baton from Carlo Conti, which CEO Giampaolo Rossi described in a press conference as "a generational act of trust," the host said he felt "very happy" and "influenced by the trust" he received. "I hope to repay it with great commitment. I hope they weren't mistaken," he added.
