Davide Nicola is the new coach of Cagliari .
Having terminated the contract with Empoli at the conciliatory body of the Tuscan city, he then signed with the rossoblù club for the next two seasons with the option for a possible third .

Thus begins, officially, the post Ranieri and the adventure in Sardinia of the coach from Luserna San Giovanni (province of Turin) who, informally, however, had already been working with the rossoblù club for almost a month, sharing all the choices made so far on the market and planning the pre-season training camp which will begin on Monday at the "Crai Sport Center" in Assemini.
The operation is unrelated to defender Sebastiano Luperto who could still arrive on the island at a later date. Cagliari will therefore not pay any compensation. Nicola renounced part of the money he should have received from Empoli once he obtained salvation , reviewing - presumably - the new agreement with the rossoblù. His deputy will be Simone Barone , who wore the Cagliari shirt in the 2009-2010 season.
