Nothing to do for Italy in team curling, the Azzurri have been defeated for the fourth time in a row.

Joel Retornaz, Amos Mosaner, Sebastiano Arman and Simon Gonin, bronze at last year's European Championships, were also surpassed by Russia, with a score of 10-7, now the qualification path to the semifinals is much more difficult. Bad weather caused postponements for several races but not for the second round of giant slalom in Yanqing.

Marco Odermatt from Switzerland won the gold medal. The silver was won by the Slovenian Zan Kranjec, the bronze by the Frenchman Mathieu Faivre.

The difficult race conditions, under heavy snow and with reduced visibility, penalized the competitors, the Italian Luca De Aliprandini only finished sixth.
