Ita appeals to the TAR after the decision of the Region to exclude it from the tender for the air continuity of Sardinia.

"The exclusion of the Company from the first emergency procedure for flights with air continuity to and from Sardinia was determined on the basis of an interpretation of the lex specialis by the tender commission of the requirements relating to the availability of aircraft that Ita considers it erroneous - the company says in a note -. In this regard, Ita filed an appeal with the Sardinian TAR for the cancellation, with a request for suspension, of the exclusion measure as well as the invitation letters relating to the second emergency procedure " .

The Region yesterday announced that it was the low cost airline Volotea that won the routes from tomorrow for the next seven months. Today the regional councilor Giorgio Todde in the Council explained the reason for the exclusion of Ita: "Lack of technical requirements", he said.

But for the heir of Alitalia, things are not like that at all: the newco which aims to become the new national airline, the note reads, "confirming its attention to the connectivity of Sardinia and to the mobility of Sardinian citizens, participated in the tender procedures announced by the Region of Sardinia by virtue of possessing all the requisites required by the Ministerial Tax Decree and the invitation letters ".

Not only. The carrier considers Todde's words "extremely damaging to his image and professionalism" and therefore "reserves the right to protect himself in the appropriate fora".

TOMORROW TAKE OFF - Meanwhile, with the last Alitalia flight tonight (Cagliari-Rome Fiumicino) Ita is preparing to take off. After having won the Alitalia Spa brand and the www.Alitalia.com domain for 90 million euros, the new carrier will officially depart at 6.20 tomorrow morning with the Milan Linate-Bari flight. The company will have a fleet of 52 aircraft and a workforce of 2,800, against the 10,500 workers of the old Alitalia.

Numbers that even today have fueled the clash between the company and the unions with strikes, protests and street demonstrations. In particular, the trade unions ask for "guarantees" on the handling and maintenance branches, "guarantees on the hiring" of Alitalia workers by Ita and the "cancellation of the company regulations" with application of the national collective bargaining agreement. "Two days of further mobilization begins, on the day that marks the end of a company that has brought prosperity to the country. It is a day that does not want to be a funeral but is the beginning of a resistance", says the Usb.
