The theme addressed will be "Peace, war and surrounding areas". Tomorrow at 5pm the National Art Gallery of Sassari hosts the conference of the Sassari Association of Philosophy and Science. For the occasion, the edition of a special issue of the MATHESIS magazine, Dialogo fra saperi which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the magazine, will be presented.

After the greetings of the director of the Pinacoteca Maria Paola Dettori and the president of the Mario Oppes Association, the speakers Antonio Delogu, philosopher of morality and law, Alberto Mario Mura, philosopher of science, Marco Calaresu, political scientist of the University of Sassari .

The themes of peace and war have often been at the center of the visual arts: one of the symbolic works of the disasters of war is Guernica by Pablo Picasso. In 2022, in collaboration with the MAN Museum of Nuoro, the weavers of 'Studio Pratha' of Sarule worked on a reflection on this canvas, drawing inspiration from it for a series of eight panels of Sardinian wool woven with a vertical loom that constitute the artistic project Weaving Peace. Homage to Guernica. The tapestries have already been partly exhibited in Nuoro, but this exhibition in the Pinacoteca of Sassari will offer the public, which can be visited until 25 August 2024, the opportunity to admire two previously unpublished pieces.
