Cannes, Palme d'Or awarded to the “Triangle of sadness”. The jury's prize goes to “The eight mountains”

Ruben Ostlund , already winner of the Palme d'Or in 2017 with The Square, is now Palme d'Or again with Triangle of sadness at the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival .
It's also good for Italy: the jury prize goes to The Eight Mountains by Charlotte Vandermeersch and Felix Van Groeningen, ex aequo with Eo by Jerzy Skolimowski .
Taken from the book of the same name by Paolo Cognetti (published by Einaudi, winner of the Strega Prize in 2017), the film with Luca Marinelli and Alessandro Borghi , shot in Valle d'Aosta, produced by Wildside and distributed by Vision, sees at the center of the story the long friendship between Pietro and Bruno since they were very young.
"With 'The eight mountains' Italian cinema is still the protagonist", exults the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini.
Other awards: Camera d'or a War Pony by Gina Gammel and Riley Keough, awarded for best first film. Best Actress to Zar Amir Ebrahimi in Ali Abbasi's Holy Spider. Best Screenplay to Tarik Saleh's Boy From Heaven . Best Actor to Song Kang-Ho for Broker by Kore-Eda Hirokazu. Special Prize to Tori and Lokita of the brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. Best Director to Park Chan-Wook for Decision To Leave. Grand Prix ex aequo Close by Lukas Dhont and Stars at noon by Claire Denis.
