Cagliari returns to their old-school ways to face Bologna, following their heavy defeat in Monza. Fabio Pisacane had opted for a 4-3-1-2 formation on Monday in Brianza, pairing Mendy and Nzola in attack, but was disappointed with the team's overall setup . He's now returning to the 4-3-2-1 formation that had proven so successful in the previous six matchdays. Mendy will be the standout player up front, with Daniel Maldini and Yanis Massolin (his second appearance after Juventus) in support.
Alessandro Deiola also returns to the starting lineup, and the surprise in the official Cagliari-Bologna lineups is that Yerry Mina is out : the captain will have Juan Rodríguez as his defensive partner. The rest of the lineup is the standard one, with Michel Adopo likely to alternate with Massolin in the attacking midfield, as he did in the friendly against Rayo Vallecano. Former Bologna player Roberto Piccoli is out, having sustained an injury last Saturday against Inter and will return after the international break.
Here are the official lineups for Cagliari vs. Bologna: the match will kick off at 3:00 PM at the Unipol Domus stadium , with Kevin Bonacina of the Bergamo section as the referee. Watch the match live on unionesarda.it, and Lele Casini will provide live pre- and post-match commentary on Radiolina.
