"All the players need to give something extra. We know it, they know it." Fabio Pisacane shows his mettle and tries to raise the bar ahead of tomorrow's match against Como, another tricky away game after the one against Lazio.
"Right now, we're getting very little, mostly due to our own shortcomings," the Cagliari coach is keen to point out, satisfied, yes, but not quite, with last Monday's performance. "Undoubtedly, with certain players back, Cagliari is a different team in terms of ball possession and personality. However, we still need to take another step."
Deiola remains out: "We hope to have him available for the match against Genoa after the break." The four-man defense has been confirmed. "It's difficult to change; 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 is the best fit for this team." Pisacane also weighs in on the offensive line: "We'll have a key center forward up front." From both sides of the pitch, the Neapolitan coach was full of praise for goalkeeper Caprile, who has been called up to the national team for the first time: "He deserves this chance, he deserves this award. And we're all happy for him."
Pisacane's conference at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini opened with a tribute to Gigi Riva and what would have been his eighty-first birthday: "A special thought for the champion Gigi Riva and for the man himself. With his values, his manner, and his spirit of sacrifice, he taught us how to approach this profession. Today is a day unlike any other in the Cagliari calendar, and we hope to be able to pay tribute to him tomorrow on the pitch with a great performance."
