The double transfer concluded yesterday by Cagliari now sees the formal passages of the official, that of Paulo Azzi and Mateusz Wieteska. The first has signed with Cremonese, permanently: the Brazilian defender leaves the rossoblù after two years, five months ahead of the expiry of the contract scheduled for June 30.
"Used in multiple roles, versatility at the service of the team, positive energy on the pitch and in the locker room: the club thanks Azzi for what he has given to the rossoblù cause in these years and wishes him the best for his upcoming professional challenges. Good continuation of his career, Paulo", is the greeting of Cagliari Calcio for the Brazilian full-back. For him in total 58 appearances and 3 goals in 24 months, the last match dates back to December 17 in the Coppa Italia against Juventus .
For Wieteska, the official announcement came a few hours later. In the morning, the Polish defender landed in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he completed the process to sign with Paok . For him, the transfer is on loan with an option to buy.
The double sale will bring further additions in this winter market, with the closing of the negotiations scheduled for February 3. The arrival of an offensive player is certain , with the names of Cyriel Dessers (Rangers), Dennis Johnsen (Cremonese) and David Okereke (Gaziantep, also on loan from the Grigiorossi) among those being carefully monitored. But it is possible that a defender will also arrive , given that the squad has been reduced in that department: however, it will not be the former Atalanta player Caleb Okoli, now at Leicester City, linked in recent days with Cagliari but without any real interest.
