"We live on an island with very poor connectivity, and this certainly impacts the Club's work with young people and all its projects in general."

This was stated by Rossoblu president Tommaso Giulini, one of the speakers at the conference "Planning and Strategies in Youth Categories," organized by the Lega Serie A in collaboration with SFS, Social Football Summit. The initiative, held during the Primavera Super Cup final at the "Gianni Brera" Civic Arena in Milan, was designed to promote a discussion on youth football in Italy and internationally and to present upcoming fixtures. The Rossoblu president addressed this very topic, invited to discuss the Cagliari model and the results achieved by the youth sector, with a particular focus on the U20s: Cagliari has consistently been in the playoff zone in recent years and won the 2024/25 Primavera Italian Cup.

"Cagliari's situation is very unique," said Giulini. "Let's think about these days when there are no flights to Milan." After relegation in 2022, "we had to change strategies to become a sustainable club again. We wanted to further strengthen the Youth Sector, and this is why we ultimately chose to appoint Fabio Pisacane, a man who studies and has a huge passion for football, to take over the first-team coaching job. Sport today is increasingly physical, there's ever-increasing research, and talent must be discovered and nurtured with foresight to beat increasingly fierce competition. And, as I always tell those who work with me, we need to make as few mistakes as possible. I think that in recent seasons, the mistakes made by the players who have played for our Under-20 team have been very few."

Mr. Pisano "is a true icon. He has experience in the Cagliari Youth Sector and, even before that, as captain of Olbia, with many young players who came from Cagliari. He possesses that sense of belonging that, combined with our core values, he can instill in young Sardinians and those who come from abroad to create a new family, as Pisacane did ."

As for the recent draw with Fiorentina: "We played well, with an excellent first half where we deserved the lead against a team with a very different budget and structure than ours. In the second half, we dropped off a bit and conceded a goal when we were ten men down because Deiola was out receiving treatment, but we never lost our composure. And Cagliari has shown everyone in recent years that they can bounce back at any moment and recover from even the most difficult situations."
