The news had been circulating since this morning and in the evening it was made official with a concise statement : “Cagliari Calcio announces that they have relieved Stefano Capozucca from the role of Sporting Director of the first team. The Club thanks the Director Capozucca for what he has done over the years he lived in Sardinia, wishing him the best for his professional future ".
Capozucca, already ds in 2015-2017 (promotion from Serie B and salvation in the following year), was back in 2021 , replacing Pierluigi Carta and contributing to salvation with Leonardo Semplici on the bench.
