Cagliari loses 1-0 at the home of Roma, led by former player Claudio Ranieri. In a match where the rossoblù have the most chances (home goalkeeper Svilar is the best on the pitch), Dovbyk scores on the only shot on target by the giallorossi.
Davide Nicola lines up with 3-5-1-1, given the many absences . In Roma, the fever stops Lorenzo Pellegrini, unavailable at the last moment . In the quarter of an hour of recovery in midfield, Koné serves Dovbyk whose left-footed shot from twenty meters is high. In the 21st minute Soulé enters the area and shoots, blocks Palomino and the subsequent shot by Dovbyk is deflected to favor Caprile.
At half an hour, a corner from the right, Mancini takes a sure shot and a deflection by Deiola is providential to make the ball go out of the goal . For Cagliari, the first shot on target at 34', Piccoli from 25 meters with Svilar blocking his right.

A great chance for Roma too in the 61st minute, Dovbyk freed in the area kicks while falling and Prati blocks in a corner. From the corner kick the rebound goes to Deiola who ends up in the small area, Dovbyk turns and scores . Immediately after, triple substitution for both teams: in Roma Dybala, Cristante and El Shaarawy for Soulé, Baldanzi and Koné, in Cagliari Makoumbou, Kingstone and Augello for Prati, Viola and Obert.
Cagliari again in the 68th minute, Piccoli turns with his right foot and slaps Svilar. But the Roma goalkeeper makes a prodigious save in the 71st minute, on a free kick with a header from Mina and a diving save followed by another save on a counter-cross from Kingstone. Dybala, on the pitch since the 63rd minute, injures his right knee ten minutes later and is forced to leave the pitch: Pisilli comes on for the last quarter of an hour, while Nicola puts Marin in for Adopo .
Cramps sideline Deiola, Pavoletti is on for the last ten minutes. But not even injury time (8') changes the situation, with no real opportunities to try to equalise.
