Marco Pusceddu was afraid. The 51-year-old rescue worker from Portoscuso, killed on the night of August 7th at the Intervol association headquarters on Via Nenni in Buddusò, feared someone was trying to harm him. So much so that in February he decided to resign, leave the "Sud Sardegna Emergenze" cooperative in Teulada, where he had worked for nine years, and move to Berchidda, where he had been hired as a driver by the Intervol association.
Until April 28th, the day of the mysterious attack in a lay-by after the Flumentepido petrol station, where someone smashed his head in with a jack or a bricklayer's mallet.
Leaving Teulada didn't save his life. The Flumentepido attack is still shrouded in mystery. Who hated him so much that they attempted to kill him in Sulcis, only to then succeed in Buddusò? There's little doubt the two incidents are connected. If so, investigators aren't looking for a lone killer, but also an accomplice.
The murder mysteries began on April 27. That day, Marco Pusceddu had dinner in Portoscuso, then, with a group of friends, decided to end the evening at a famous restaurant in Carbonia.
