Ternana doesn't pay for the change of coach. The sacking of Cristiano Lucarelli and the arrival of Aurelio Andreazzoli, strongly desired by the president Bandecchi, sinks in the lagoon at the hands of a super Bertinato and the brace of Pohjanpalo give the victory to Venice (2-1), the second consecutive after Palermo and the first season at Penzo.

Ternana didn't give up but the great saves of the lagoon goalkeeper allowed Paolo Vanoli's team to get three thoughtful points. Venezia started immediately on the attack and took the lead after just nine minutes with Pohjanpalo, able to beat Iannarilli with a close touch. The Umbrian equalizer comes from a penalty by Falletto after a hand ball called for Crnigoj.

Shortly before the break, Venezia came forward again with Pohjnapalo , well unmarked by Johnsen. In the second half, the red-and-greens try but find themselves facing a Superman version of Bertinato, who, in turn, denies the goal to Agazzi, Partipilo and Capanni. Of note is a crossbar hit by Busio.
